About the event
Simon Bower and Matthew Preston will be performing two duets by French composers Gabriel Fauré and Darius Milhaud. Fauré's 'Dolly Suite' was written between 1893-96 for four hands at one piano. The suite, consists of six short pieces, each with its own title: Berceuse, Mi-a-ou, Le jardin de Dolly, Kitty-valse, Tendresse, and Le pas espagnol. Milhaud's 'Scaramouche' was written in 1937 for two pianos; that is one musician at each piano. The suite, consists of three movements, Vif, Modéré and Brazileira.
